Announcements
People with cough, fever, or respiratory symptoms are required to wear a mask in the clinic.
During the cough and cold season and times of COVID-19 outbreaks, masks are mandatory in our clinic, even if you do not have any symptoms. Thank you for helping us prevent transmission of infections to our staff, doctors, vulnerable patients, and their families.
Due to patients with various allergies and sensitivities, our clinic is a scent-free environment.
Prescriptions
Prescription renewals should be done when you are seeing your doctor. There is $25 fee for prescriptions written without an appointment. This fee covers the administrative costs as this service is not covered by OHIP.
We encourage patients to book an appointment with us when picking up your last refill. Your regular doctor will usually provide enough medications for up to a year, or until he/she feels it is necessary to see you again.
If you have accidentally run out of your medications, you can also ask your pharmacist to extend your medication for a limited period of time until you see your doctor.
Appointments
If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance so that another patient may have the opportunity to see the doctor. Remember, if you cancel an appointment without sufficient notice, you may be charged by the doctor for the visit time not used. The amount could be from $50 to $150.
Health Insurance
Our services are covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). You need to present your health card to cover the cost of your medical services. The health card is checked at every visit as required by the Ministry of health. If you do not have a valid health card, you will be billed directly for the services provided. You may receive a refund if you present a valid health card within 1 month of your doctor’s visit. You may also call us with a valid HC number and version code (last 2 letters on your health card number).
Information and Referrals
Please keep us informed of any changes regarding your name, mailing or email addresses, telephone numbers or health insurance information so that we may keep our files current. It is also beneficial to give us your mobile or workplace phone number, and your regular pharmacy information, so that we can better contact you and coordinate care.
You must see a physician before a referral to a specialist can be made.
Test Results
We receive many laboratory and X-ray reports every day; therefore it is not possible to notify each patient of the test results. You will be contacted directly about any abnormal
test results or results that require a follow-up appointment.
It is your responsibility to give us your correct phone
number and address (including correct email address) to ensure that we can reach you! If you have any questions about your test results, please make an appointment with your doctor as we do not give test result information over the telephone without your doctor’s approval.
Our Telephone System
We prefer to see all patients by appointments. Our well-trained staff will try to accommodate every emergency to ensure that you see your own doctor or another available physician. To make an appointment, please call the office at 343-477-0163 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, except holidays.
There are several appointment lines which are answered in sequence. You must stay on the line to have your call answered in the order it was received. Voice messages that are left will be returned as soon as possible within 2 business days.
After Hours and weekends Calls
If there is an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Non-urgent messages may be left by calling 343-477-0163. (note: We aim to return messages within 2 business days)
TeleHealth Ontario
If you are an enrolled patient and you cannot attend our afterhours clinic, there is a registered nurse at Ontario Health on duty after regular clinic hours and on weekends and holidays. Please call 8-1-1 to speak with a nurse after-hours.
